WHAT IS AN AUDITOR?An AABS audit will evaluate efficiency, economy and effectiveness of your operating activities in relation to the specific goals of your organisation or client. We have extensive experience in conducting audits in many different areas. Auditors help to ensure that Victoria’s public and private firms are run efficiently, records kept accurately, and taxes paid properly and on time. They perform these vital functions by offering an increasingly wide array of business and accounting services, including public, management, and government accounting, as well as internal auditing, to their clients. Beyond carrying out the fundamental tasks of the occupation: preparing, analyzing, and verifying financial documents in order to provide information to clients, many accountants now are required to possess a wide range of knowledge and skills. AASB accountants and auditors are continually broadening the services we offer and the flexibility to include budget analysis, financial and investment planning, information technology consulting, and limited legal services.

WHAT IS AN ACCOUNTANT?Accounting is basically information, and this information is published periodically in business as a profit and loss statement, or an income statement. Sometimes referred to, as "bean counters", accountants are the people who keep their eye on profits, costs and losses. Staying on top of accounting, whether it is for a multi-billion dollar business or for a personal savings account is a necessary activity on a daily basis. Not doing so can mean anything from a bounced cheque or posting a loss to a company shareholder. Both scenarios can be equally devastating. Every business and every individual needs to have some kind of accounting system. Without it, finances can get away from them they do not know what they have spent, or whether they can expect a profit or a loss from their business. Accounting is even part of the life of a child. Saving an allowance, or spending it - these are accounting principles.

HEALTH CARE & COMMUNITYWith years of experience in delivering quality accounting solutions to hospitals, residential aged care and health care centres, our professional team are expert in the unique requirements of this challenging area of financial management. Our service includes preparation of financial reports, and presentation to regulatory and governance bodies within the statewide health system, as part of a full professional accounting and audit solution. AASB also works to assist management in the implementation and management of a risk management framework, with assurance that appropriate internal control measures are in place. AASB identified key partners in the Health and Care Services Provider Industries and the Registered Clubs of Victoria. These entities and agencies must operate as competitive and sustainable businesses, but their service models depend on the provision of care, the inclusiveness and support of a club and the engagement with community. We strive to add value by providing a range of expert financial and business services that enable our health and care services clients to achieve their goals and serve communities. Collaboration is the heart of the Accounting & Audit Solutions Bendigo (AASB) core business strategy. Functioning as the principal Financial Accountant for many regional health agencies, and participating as a member of the management team for example, AASB is involved in consulting on a range of business and organisational matters. "Strategy can be as much about collaboration as it is competition. These ideas change business quite profoundly becuase they mean the traditional predacious strategy actually doesn't apply anymore." - Phillip Evens, BCG.
