"Strategy can be as much about collaboration as it is competition. These ideas change business quite profoundly becuase they mean the traditional predacious strategy actually doesn't apply anymore." - Phillip Evens, BCG.
Collaboration is the heart of the Accounting & Audit Solutions Bendigo (AASB) core business strategy.
Accountants and auditors help to ensure that Victoria’s public and private firms are run efficiently, records kept accurately, and taxes paid properly and on time. They perform these vital functions by offering an increasingly wide array of business and accounting services, including public, management, and government accounting, as well as internal auditing, to their clients. Beyond carrying out the fundamental tasks of the occupation: preparing, analyzing, and verifying financial documents in order to provide information to clients, many accountants now are required to possess a wide range of knowledge and skills. AASB accountants and auditors are continually broadening the services we offer and the flexibility to include budget analysis, financial and investment planning, information technology consulting, and limited legal services.

Accounting is basically information, and this information is published periodically in business as a profit and loss statement, or an income statement. Sometimes referred to, as "bean counters", accountants are the people who keep their eye on profits, costs and losses. Staying on top of accounting, whether it is for a multi-billion dollar business or for a personal savings account is a necessary activity on a daily basis. Not doing so can mean anything from a bounced cheque or posting a loss to a company shareholders. Both scenarios can be equally devastating. Every business and every individual needs to have some kind of accounting system. Without it, finances can get away from them they do not know what they have spent, or whether they can expect a profit or a loss from their business. Accounting is even part of the life of a child. Saving an allowance, or spending it - these are accounting principles.
